Conjunto Showcase

General Rules and Regulations

• Entry is free

• Conjunto performers do not have to be registered for the mariachi conference

• Conjunto participants will only be allowed to attend the Friday night events.

• Performance reservation will be on a first come-first serve basis. Once all slots are filled, registration will be closed.

• Performance order will be determined by random draw

• Only performers and directors will be allowed in the designated backstage area

• ALL directors MUST fully complete the required registration forms

• Group levels allowed to perform are:

  • Middle School

  • High School

  • University

Performance Rules

• Set time will be 20 minutes per group (includes set up time)

• Groups can begin their performance as soon as they are ready.

• Song selection is at the discretion of the director

Sound and Production Rules​

 

• Microphones/plug-ins will be placed on stage the same for all groups (see stage plot).

• Wireless mics, congas, & snare may be moved, but need to be placed back as per stage plot after performance.

• All groups will play using the sound levels during sound check. However, the sound engineer may adjust levels and his discretion. All levels will be reset back to "base" at the end of the performance.

• Only designated staff is allowed in the sound booth area.

• Groups may not leave equipment or personal items in the backstage area

• The following equipment will be on stage for all groups to use:

  • Drum set

  • Congas

  • Snare
